Stranded by Bracken MacLeod. Published by Tor

Noah Cabot is a crew member aboard the Arctic Promise, a ship in great danger after a storm of biblical proportions. They sail into a thick fog with no communications or navigational equipment and are stricken with a strange illness. Noah alone seems unaffected, and he warns the captain that conditions will get even worse. Still, the captain sails on and soon the water surrounding the ship freezes, imprisoning them. After an effort to free the ship fails, Noah and his few still strong crewmates mount an overland trek toward something they can see in the distance. But is it their destination, or something they can’t even imagine. MacLeod will scare the hell out of you
