Ancient Skies, Ancient Trees by Beth Moon. Published by Abbeville.

Simply put, this is one of the most beautiful, most ethereal Books I have ever held in my hands. Moon visits some of the last truly dark places in the world, and using a digital camera, combines photos of ancient trees with the night sky. Olives, oaks, juniper, baobab and sequoias are just a few of the trees photographed against constellations and nebulae. Some of the most ancient things on earth photographed with the even more ancient night sky makes for images that are impossible to look away from. I felt both grounded by those magnificent trees and lifted into the heavens at the same time. A book that will truly put a perspective on your place in the universe
