Moral Defense by Marcia Clark. Published by Thomas & Mercer

In the follow up to Blood Defense, defense attorney Samantha Brinkman  is acting as legal defense council for Cassie Sonnenberg, whose father and brother have been viciously stabbed to death. How is it that Cassie survived the attack that killed her family? Did she have a hand in the murders? Or is she simply an innocent victim? Against her better judgement, Samantha gets closer to Cassie. Samantha can identify with the girl, but will this connection help solve the case, or put Samantha in danger? Clark’s  books get better and better and Samantha’s character has grown and developed much more dimension in this follow up
