The Moth Catcher by Ann Cleeves. Published by St. Martin’s

DI Vera Stanhope and her team of detectives, Holly and Joe head to a murder scene in Valley Farm, where a house sitter who is watching over a country house has been found, dead. After searching the house, another body is found in the attic. Trying to find out what the murders were committed for and by whom is made more difficult by the close minded villagers who don’t take kindly to strangers. I was glad to see Holly get more air time in this novel, her character continues to grow and get more interesting. If I have any complaints it’s the fact that Cleeves continues to harp on the fact that Vera is overweight and unattractive. The woman is a brilliant detective, let’s just leave it there
