The Magic of Trees by Tess Whitehurst. Published by Llewellyn

For years, scientists have suspected being outside in nature is good for us and now, recent studies prove that it’s true. Being close to nature can lower blood pressure, help you get a better night’s sleep and just feel happier. Whitehurst explores the gifts we receive from the trees that surround us. Humans have long used trees for shelter, food, communication and medicine, just being around them can be an uplifting experience. The author lists hundreds of different types of trees,  explains where they live, how they have impacted human history and what they have been and can be used for. More than anything, I took away a confirmation of my own beliefs that these magnificent beings enrich and sustain us as human beings
