Poinciana Road by Margaret Way. Published by Kensington

It’s been six years since child psychologist Mallory  James left Australia and Morningside, a former sugar plantation and her dreams of a happy marriage behind. Now she has returned for her uncle Robert, the man who saved her when she needed help is now in need of some help himself. Robert is not alone. His protege Blaine Forrester is helping care for the ailing man, and Mallory is annoyed that Blaine can still bother her without even trying. She also has to face down Jason Cartwright, the man who broke her heart six years earlier, along with his wife and his nasty twin sister. Things get even worse when tragedy strikes the old plantation and Mallory will have to prove to herself and everyone else that she is capable of taking control of Morningside. Loved the exotic location and description of the old plantation house, it gave the novel a real sense of place
