The Trouble With Mirrors by Aaron Elkins. Published by Thomas & Mercer

Art restorer and FBI consultant Alix Landon returns in a new mystery. This time Alix is flummoxed by the rather large sum of money a European art dealer offers her for a small mirror made by her uncle Tiny. It’s not an antique, so why would the man possibly want it? Not that it matters, because Alix refuses to sell. Not long after, the mirror is stolen and her uncle Tiny disappears. What’s the connection between the mirror, her uncle and the art dealer. With help from her friends in the Bureau, her BFF and an elderly Italian cop, Alix sets out to find her uncle and solve the mystery of the mirror. This is a great series; there’s plenty of time spent on character development and the quirky cast of characters bring the books to life
