Stone Coffin by Kjell Eriksson. Published by St. Martins

In this new police procedural featuring detective Ann Lindell a terrible accident has claimed two lived. A mother and her 6 year old daughter were struck and killed by a car. But Lindell wonders if this really was an accident. Suspiciously, the woman’s husband disappears on the same day. When police discover that he recently bought property no one knew about, they think they have found their killer. But them a nasty surprise is found in the nearby woods and all bets are off. A little more of  Lindell’s past and personal life come to light in each successive book in the series and frankly, that’s what I like best about this series of Nordic Noir mysteries
