Who We Were Before by Leah Mercer. Published by Lake Union

It’s been two years since Zoe’s son was hit and killed in a traffic accident. While her husband Edward doesn’t blame her, he said some things immediately after the accident, terrible things, that Zoe can’t forget. Zoe cannot move forward from the accident and Edward is getting tired of waiting for her. When Zoe’s parents offer the couple a trip to Paris, they accept, knowing that this trip will either make or break their marriage. Statistically, most marriages do not survive a tragedy like the loss of a child, that’s what made this story so compelling. As Zoe and Edward try to find each other, and themselves in Paris, they will each have to learn to let their child go, something impossible to imagine. Heart felt and realistic
