The Lost Child of Lychford by Paul Cornell. Published by Tor

In this novella sequel to The Witches of Lychford, Christmas is coming to the small English village. Lizzie’s first as reverend of St. Martins and she’s stressed out with the concerns of the church and her congregants. Life has never been the same since Lizzie and fellow witches Autumn and Judith fought against a huge corporation to stop them building a store in the village, which lies on the border of our world and another, decidedly darker world. When Judith encounters a small child in church, she knows he’s not human (at least not anymore), but is he a ghost? Is she suffering from hallucinations? Lizzie and her friends may have thought their battle against the dark was over, but they soon learn, it’s only beginning. I love the premise of this series, I just wish the stories were longer. Perhaps when the stories are presented in one volume, I will be able to enjoy the flow a little more
