The Woman in Black by Kerry Wilkinson. Published by Bookouture

DS Jessica Daniel is faced with a baffling and terrifying crime. A severed hand has been found in the middle of Manchester. CCTV footage shows a woman in a long black robe depositing the hand. There are plenty of missing people in Manchester and their family members are frantic, trying to figure out if the severed hand belongs to their loved one.  The mother of missing Lewis Barnes is sure that his girlfriend January, is the killer. Then a second hand is found at the same time a politician’s wife disappears and Jessica gets a human finger in the mail, addressed to her. She may not know who the killer is, but he certainly knows who she is. This is a twisted police procedural that kept me on the edge of my seat
