Ill Met by Murder by Elizabeth J. Duncan. Published by Crooked Lane

It’s time for the Catskill’s Shakespeare Company’s annual fundraiser. This year the company, along with the help of costume designer Charlotte Fairfax, is putting on a production of A Midsummer Night’s Dream. The play will take place on the estate of über wealthy Paula Van Deusen as part of a celebration of her daughter Belinda and fiancée Adam’s upcoming nuptials. But things don’t go as planned when one of Adam’s business rivals is found murdered with a prop from the play. Paula begs Charlotte to use her detective skills to keep Belinda’s good name out of the papers, and reluctantly, Charlotte agrees. This was an interesting mystery, with lots of behind the scenes looks at costume design and the sometimes obscure world of Shakespearean language
