Not a Sound by Heather Gudenkauf. Published by Park Row

After losing her hearing in an accident, Amelia Winn lost the will to live and her depression cost her her husband and stepdaughter. But two years later, Amelia is coming to terms with her new life with the aid of her hearing dog, Stitch. While on a walk she stumbles across the body of a fellow nurse in the woods near her cabin. Her newfound confidence is shattered, and while she is afraid that a killer is prowling the woods, Amelia refuses to sit idly by and begins an investigation into the death herself. I loved this mystery, Amelia is relatable and the mystery is indeed creepy, but Stitch steals the show
