The Devil’s Muse by Bill Loehfelm. Published by Farrar, Straus & Giroux

Loehfelm is that rarest of male authors –  he writes women well. Fresh off her assignment with the FBI and back on the job with NOPD, Maureen Coughlin won’t have time to relax, becuase it’s Mardi Gras time in the Big Easy. From chasing down scantily clad partyers to a gunman on a spree, Maureen and her fellow officers are doing their best to keep the city safe from wild partyers and crazed killers. I love the Jack Daniels series and this book puts me in mind  of those stories. Highly recommended
