A Ghostly Light by Juliet Blackwell. Published by Berkley

Mel Turner’s construction company has been hired to restore a lighthouse in San Francisco Bay and Mel is excited about the project. Her friend Alicia plans to turn the lighthouse into an inn, but plans are put on hold when Alicia’s violent ex shows up and threatens both women. When the lout is found dead at in the lighthouse not long after, it’s good riddance to bad medicine, but the cops want someone to pay for the crime. Alicia is suspect number one of course, but Mel isn’t about to let her friend go down for a crime she didn’t commit. The setting in this story is a big part of the books appeal, and Mel is the kind of freind we’d all like to have
