The younger members of the Morse family have been estranged since their grandfather all but accused them of having something to do with a missing painting. The picture, a self portrait by Goya is believed to cause madness in anyone who looks directly at it. When Teresa arrives to visit her grandfather, she finds him dead, staring at the spot where the painting used to hang. Now she must delve into her family’s past and the history of the painting to understand what happened to her grandfather
