Shattered by Allison Brennan. Published by St. Martin

Investigative reporter Max Revere is trying to help a friend prove his wife has been falsely accused of killing their son, but she’s running up against a brick wall. Everyone involved in the case believes they have arrested the right person. But what about the boys who have been kidnapped, murdered in left in shallow graves over the last two decades? Is there a connection? When the aunt of one of those murdered boys, an FBI agent, wants to work with Max to help her uncover the answers, instead of being grateful, Max is suspicious. She wants to crack this case herself, and get all the kudos for doing it. FBI agent Lucy Kincaid needs to solve the case to get justice for her nephew and closure for her family. Can the two women find common ground to bring down a serial killer? I liked the fact that this story had two strong female protagonists that were perfectly capable of taking care of themselves
