The Scent of Murder by Kylie Logan. Published by St. Martins

Jazz Ramsey like her day job at a girls school, but she’s most passionate about her volunteer work. Luther is a cadaver dog in training and Jazz loves working with him. One day, while working with Luther at an abandoned building, Luther signals he’s found something. Luther has found the body of a young woman who looks all too familiar to Jazz, it’s one of her former students. Jazz comes to believe it’s up to her to find out what happened to the girl, even though the lead detective on the case is an old flame and she really has no idea how to go about finding a killer. Or what to do once she’s found them. The first in a new series, this book combines two of my favorite things, a good mystery and a good dog. Can’t wait for the next installment
