In the Line of Fire by R.J. Noonan. Published by Crooked Lane

It’s a big deal when Laura is promoted from patrol to detective. She’s an anomaly, a female minority detective on the force and her first major case is a bank robbery. Laura sees similarities between this new robbery and those of the past. A series of bank robberies that ended with people dead. The unsolved cases were called Twilight, but when Laura tries to bring her superiors onboard with her line of thinking, they shut her down, fast. She also learns her predecessor, the only woman on the force at the time, was killed in the line of duty. Timely, heart racing and gritty, this is one hell of a ride
